About Us:
We purchased our first farm in Tieton, Washington in 1976. We now have over 200 acres of rich Yakima Valley farm land in production including 12 acres in certified organic cherries, 20 acres of pears, and the rest in apples. When I was a child, I spent the summers with my grandparents on their farm and knew that I wanted to be a farmer and to give my children the opportunity to grow up enjoying farm life.
And this is exactly what we have done now for over 36 years. We have five children: Scotty, Thor, Gurina, Brian, and Laura who have all experienced the joys and hard work of farm life. We now have 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Our youngest son, Brian, is also a partner in the family business and will continue the McIlrath farm tradition of excellence in the Yakima Valley. We plan to expand McIlrath Farm Market over the next few years as our “retirement” work.
