Downtown Mount Vernon is one of those gems you don't see so often anymore. The city was established in 1889 and is the hub of Skagit County. In the downtown core, you'll find charming old buildings with a few newer ones mixed in. Mount Vernon is part of the National Trust Main Street Program. This status helps the downtown enhance and maintain its unique charm.
