Since 1981 the City, the Aberdeen Museum of History, and the Community Action Council have infused nearly $250,000.00 into the structural rehabilitation of the building; fixing the roof, new electrical and communication services, heating system upgrade and amenities such as a new paint job and window panes.

So very sad that we hadn't been to see the History here yet, but only it's demise. And must thank the firefighters from across several counties. This fire certainly put up a Fight. And thanks to those also that posted pictures of the wonderful history here. It's all part of preservation 🙂

We made the visit last fall and it was a great little museum, that is closed now due to a fire! I can't wait to see how this all pans out o be they get back on their feet!

So sad to see this historic place and all of the history inside of it on fire. I just hope it's not a total loss and they are able to salvage most of it and rebuild.

Very sad to report that several weeks ago there was a huge fire and the museum was for most part big loss. I heard that during the Aberdeen founder's day celebration, they are asking for old family items from those who have lived here to refurbish the exhibit. Pass on please
